Kris Sorenson-Hyatt
I came to Austin from South Dakota in early 1980 as a Vista volunteer, working with low- income nutrition programs. I had no intention of staying past my one- year commitment.
Well, so much for one year. I met my husband, Gary, and decided to stay. Austin was a beautiful place to live with great friendly people.
I worked in private school food services and ran a small restaurant for a short time in Lockhart Tx. After 4 years of that I decided on Real Estate as a career change.
Now after 37 years in the Austin real estate world, the majority of my business is repeat and referral from past clients and friends. (It is especially gratifying when I find a first time house for the now grown "kids" of friends and find or sell that second or third house for friends/clients!) I have a special affinity for the older neighborhoods, especially my own, Bouldin, and the surrounding neighborhoods, but I conduct business all over Austin. I really enjoy working with friends and neighbors, listening carefully to their needs and matching them to the house that best fits those needs.
When not working at Real Estate I spend my time cooking (a great stress reliever!), gardening, giving my 2 Aussies and 1 Catahoulah/blue Lacy mix TLC, including participating in dock diving with my youngest Aussie. Any of you ladies want to join me or get information about the experience, contact me.
